Malayalee is a Malayalam language based newspaper, which is printed and
published every week from Houston, Texas. It is amongst one of the
largest circulated Malayalam language papers in the U.S. The first
edition was printed and published in 1996 as a monthly and it progressed
on to become a weekly.
The Malayalee features news, events, opinions, editorials and special
columns authored by both Malayalee staff writers and contributing members
every week.
Its popularity is contributed by many factors including its innovating
and novel ideas for presenting news and information, the in depth
analysis of news and information and the social responsibility it takes
on as a newspaper to the Malayalee community in the U.S.
The Malayalee has become the new paradigm of Malayalam newspapers in the
U.S. by it having to be produced entirely here in the U.S. Many elements
contribute to its success. The support
the paper receives from the Malayalee community is the most significant factor
in its prominence.
The
Malayalee features an English section, which is intended for those who
cannot read Malayalam but interested in keeping up with news and events
of the community.
